Privacy Policy

Intera (“Intera,” “we,” “us”) is an AI-powered mock interview platform. You practice interviews by speaking with a voice AI that listens, responds, and gives you feedback. Because the service works by recording and analyzing your voice, we want to be clear and specific about what we collect and what we do with it. This policy describes exactly that.
What we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we receive your user ID, email address, name, and profile picture from your sign-in provider. We use this to create and secure your account.
Interview content
This is the heart of the product, and the most sensitive data we hold:
- Voice recordings. We record the audio of your practice interviews so you can play them back and so the AI can review your answers. A recording of your voice is personal and sensitive information, and we treat it that way.
- Transcripts. We store a written transcript of what you and the AI say during each interview.
- Session details and feedback. The interview type and focus, anything you share about the role you’re preparing for, and the scores and written feedback the AI generates.
Billing information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor handles your payment. We do not receive or store your card details. We keep only a customer and subscription identifier and your plan status so we know what you have access to.
Google Calendar (only if you connect it)
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we store an encrypted access token and details of the events you choose to work with (such as titles, times, locations, and meeting links) so we can help you prepare. You can disconnect at any time, which revokes our access.
Essential cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through.
How we use your data
We use the data above only to:
- run your live interview and generate your feedback;
- let you review past interviews, recordings, and progress;
- operate, secure, and support your account; and
- process payments and manage your subscription.
AI and your data
To run an interview and produce feedback, your voice and transcript are sent to third-party AI providers that process them on our behalf. Importantly:
- We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models.
- The AI providers that process your content do so only to deliver the service to you — not to train their own models.
- We never sell your personal data to anyone.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell your data, and we share it only with the service providers we need to run Intera. Each acts on our instructions and only for the purposes above:
- Cloud infrastructure providers that host our database, authentication, real-time voice connection, and recording storage.
- Third-party AI providers that process your voice and transcript to run the interview and generate feedback.
- Our payment processor, which handles paid subscriptions.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google or connect your calendar.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so your interview history stays available to you. There is no fixed expiry — you stay in control:
- Delete an interview. Deleting an interview from your dashboard permanently removes its recording, transcript, and feedback.
- Delete your account. You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated data yourself from Settings → Account → Delete account. You can also email us at hello@useintera.com and we will take care of it.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email hello@useintera.com. We’ll respond as soon as we reasonably can.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
Children
Intera is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we’ll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
